ReelWorld The Last Mission

RDX STUDIO CUT
SEPTEMBER 2026
THE BRIEF

Take Siyam World's previous ReelWorld New Year's Eve and show how RDX might have approached it differently.

OUR APPROACH

Start with what already exists.
Understand how it works.
Question one assumption.
Explore what changes.

WORKING PARAMETERS

No additional budget assumed.
Use the resort and its existing assets.
Participation remains optional.
No prior participation required.
New Year's Eve still needs to be a big, fun celebration.

FOR THIS EXERCISE

The focus is on the idea and how it might work. Enough detail is included to make the thinking clear and the experience easy to picture. Full concept development, programming and production are outside the scope at this stage. Those would come next.

You already know how to get guests involved.

“It’s a cinematic holiday where you are the star.

On New Year's Eve,
the star becomes the
audience.

What if The Last
Mission became
a real mission?

The audience plays: Instead of watching a sequence of acts, guests are given a mission to complete. A host guides the audience through a series of challenges, with each completion triggering what happens next.

THE OBJECTIVE

The host introduces the mission.

02

THE AUDIENCE PLAYS

Guests take on challenges, solve, decide and unlock clues that move the mission forward.

03

THE SHOW REACTS

Each completed mission unlocks something: a performer, a character, a new part of the night.

THE FINAL MISSION

The night builds toward one final objective. The mission is completed and the celebration begins.

Put the guest where
the production used to be.

THE ORIGINAL APPROACH

Production creates the experience.
Guests watch.

THE ALTERNATIVE APPROACH

Guests help create the experience.
Production responds.

The guest becomes the star, while the production is concentrated into fewer, bigger payoff moments. More experience doesn't have to mean more production.

A different way to approach
The Last Mission.

ReelWorld already had a strong idea at its centre: the guest is the star.

For this exercise, we looked at how that promise could carry through to New Year's Eve. Rather than adding more entertainment, we turned The Last Mission from something guests watch into something they help make happen.

That gives guest participation a central role in the experience, while allowing production to be concentrated into fewer, bigger moments.

This is how we approach creative work at RDX: understand what is already there, identify where the opportunity is, and develop the idea from there.
